I’m a full-time professional and photography is neither a side job nor hobby for me – it’s who I am. After graduating with honors from CU in English Literature, I studied at the Brooks Institute of Photography- Santa Barbara, CA from 2000-2003. I founded Frances Photography in 2003 and have never looked back.
While the Brooks Institute permanently imprinted the technique of photography on my brain, it’s been the 15 years and thousands of shoots that have been my greatest instructor and truly taught me how to be a professional. Experience has taught me how to deal with blizzards on the wedding days, nightmare lighting situations, feuding families, and the like. Regardless of the unforeseen situation, I’ve got your back. Your wedding and most important life moments are safe with me.
Choosing to follow my dreams and A LOT of hard work and dedication has paid off. I’ve had the extreme honor of working with thousands of clients including celebrities such as Joe Rogan, “Princess of the Pipe” Jess Cumming, Chris “Birdman” Anderson, Jake Plummer, Lacrosse legend Paul Rabil and others.
My work has been published in Professional Photographer Magazine, inside and on the cover of Reign, Aisle Style, Luxe Mountain Weddings, Denver Life, as well as in multiple issues of the Knot, Brides CO, the Special Event, and Confetti Magazines. I was acknowledged for my fine art photography and charity work in the “Good Works” section of Professional Photographer Magazine in the August 2008 issue. Wedding blogs such as Borrowed and Blue, Carats and Cake, CoutureColorado and many more are continually sharing the weddings to the point that I have truly lost count.
While such accolades bring a momentary spring to my step, the recognition is less important to me than making sure each and every client I work with is over the moon with their images. I’m also incredibly proud of the work I’ve done with the Women’s Bean Project and a never forgotten day and evening I spent photographing my friend Kim – PLEASE ask me about this heart wrenching experience, but be prepared to cry.
Please feel free to read through some of the independent reviews I have received - REVIEWS.
