Olivia Lane Gillette. Doesn’t that sound like a movie star name? I think so and I love it! One of the best things about being a photographer is that I get to give away what I create. I will forever and always have a special way to give to the people in my life that I love. Michelle and Michael Gillette are dear friends and there is nothing I could have given them that would be more special than photos of their beautiful daughter. So that was my gift to help celebrate their move into parenthood.
Unfortunately, our session was cut super short because we realized after only a few minutes, that Olivia was having an allergic reaction. My sweet, but giant doberman, Charlie, wanted Liv to know that he loves her too and he licked her little face with his big tongue. Within seconds, her face and eye started to swell up and turn red. Luckily we were able to get a bunch of really great shots before that happened, but as soon as we realized what was going on, we scooped her up and got her the heck out of my house. Thankfully, it was a short lived reaction and was gone in a couple of hours. And since we didn’t get to take more photos, Michelle and Olivia and I went to lunch together instead, which was equally fun for us.
It’s a busy life we all lead and I don’t get to spend nearly as much time with any of my friends as I would like too. But, given that lots of them are having babies all around me, it’s looking like I am going to be seeing them all more often! I can’t wait to watch this baby grow up. I’m excited to see who she is going to become too. With parents like Michelle and Michael, she is sure to be as bright as a star, no matter what she does.
