Little Miss Madilyn at 6 months: Baby Photography in Denver

What can I say about this beautiful baby girl? Besides the fact that her mommy and daddy are head over heels in love with her, she has some of the prettiest blue eyes and kissable, squishable, cheeks this side of the Mississippi. Her little lips are like petals off the most luscious & symmetrical pink flowers. Her thighs are the perfect brand of healthy baby chub, and her skin is as soft as the finest grade of silk on earth. And as if all of this wasn’t enough, her personality is even more darling than all of her good looks combined. She has the laid back and happy nature of her gorgeous mama and the light-hearted humor of her handsome daddy all rolled into one.

I can still remember the first time I met Mike and Stephanie during their engagement session and we walked casually around the park at Standley Lake getting to know each other easily and naturally while I took photos of them so happy-in-love. I can still remember thinking that this couple was in it for the long haul. My instincts were right on! They couldn’t be more perfect together and they certainly make amazing parents too.

It’s a huge compliment when one of my wedding couples calls me for more photos when they are expecting their first baby, and an even bigger compliment when I go to their home and see my images all over their walls. I have at least two more photo shoot with the Woodwards for Madylin’s “Baby’s First Year” and I expect that, given our track record, there will be many more after that! Denver Boudoir Photography: Should I hire a professional make-up artist?

There are lots of occasions that are the perfect opportunity for giving the gift of boudoir photography! One said occasion, of course, is Valentines Day. Every year I offer a Valentines Day special to new clients which offers them $150 off of my session fee, a free hotel suite to do the photos at, and a professional hair and make-up services with a preferred vendor. Keegan Steele of “Steele the Spotlight” is a fantastic make-up artist and she always helps my clients look their best! Not only that, but having hair and make-up done by a professional gives my clients an added opportunity to relax and feel pampered before the photography begins. I can’t say enough about how important this element is to boudoir photography. While not absolutely “critical,”it does make a huge difference in the outcome of the images. Besides that, being given a chance to settle into the scene with a glass of champagne is always beneficial. I realize that some clients, even though interested in the ultimate outcome, are not totally comfortable getting undressed in front of a camera. While I certainly do my best to help my clients feel comfortable, sexy, and confident, I can also say that a little extra time and a little bubbly has never hurt my/our cause. Ladies, if you are going to go to the trouble to have these kinds of images done for either yourself or for someone special in your life, I highly recommend treating yourself to professional hair and make-up as well. Baby’s First Year: Colorado Family Photography

Helen and Dan are another of my wedding clients turned fabulous friends, who I just adore to the moon and beyond. When I found out they were pregnant I couldn’t wait to start baby’s first year with them because I knew we would get to see each other more regularly! Margaux was born several weeks early and had to spend the first month of her life at the hospital getting stronger, so our sessions got moved back just a little bit making them more like 1 month, 4 months, 7 months, 10 months, and 13 months. It’s amazing to see how much she has grown since we met for her newborn session, even though she was already nearly a month old the first time we met. Margaux (don’t you love her name!) has perfect porcelain skin and beautiful sparkly blue eyes and a head full of silvery-white hair! She is completely adorable and I swear you can already see the beauty and wisdom shining through her bright eyes, the windows to her sweet little soul.

The second opportunity I had to see her was at four months and her legs and body have filled out with perfectly squishy little thighs and a cute round belly that you just want to squeeze and rub because they feel so soft and good. The softness of a baby’s skin is something I don’t think will ever get old for me. Like ever, ever! I like it when I can schedule a little extra time into my baby sessions so that I can hold the baby too! Margaux is not going to be an exception there either. She is the perfect blend of both Helen and Dan and I can’t wait to watch her grow and mature into a darling little girl. Surely our photos will not be done once we get though the baby’s first year set of photo sessions. I am already picturing her as a tall and gorgeous blonde across from my lens for her senior photos!! Hopefully it won’t come too fast though because she has a world of people that want to enjoy her for years and years until then.

Little Miss M, you are a star in my eyes baby, now and always. You are a strong and beautiful girl and your mama and daddy love you so much. You are in great hands my dear. Can’t wait to kiss and hug you again soon. MUWAH baby girl!

Mountain Boudoir: Sizzling in the Snow

I had a great opportunity to do a couple of boudoir photo shoots in Breckenridge, CO about a month ago and the weather was pure perfection! My client was hoping we could get a few photos in the snow and as luck would have it, we were able to. It was actually a bright day with blue skies except for these quick flashes of snow storms that kept coming in and out of the corner we were tucked into during the time we were photographing. I LOVE taking boudoir photos outside when appropriate and this particular day, I hit the weather and the time of day just right. Considering my client is a big snowboarder, it only seemed fitting to get her outside with big soft snowflakes falling around her gorgeous, almost naked, hot little body. Don’t worry, I didn’t keep her out there too long and we took breaks to warm up every couple of minutes. This is another wonderful example of a boudoir session at a clients home. She had great light in practically every room and we were even able to get her sweet kitty to pose with her for a few shots. It’s always a nice touch to add things into your boudoir session that make it more personal. Whether it’s simply being in your own space, including things you love (like snow or pets!), or incorporating things your significant other loves, sometimes there’s just no place like home.
