Welcoming Reagan! Newborn Photography Colorado

As I expressed in a recent maternity post, Natasha, the beautiful mother of newborn Reagan, is a very important friend in my life.  We met like many of my other “babies first year” parents, at a wedding photography consultation.  And like with many of my clients, we made an instant connection that has lasted well past the wedding day.  Natasha and her husband, Matt, and I have gotten together for wine dates, dinners, parties, and afternoon bbq’s since then.  I’m not sure why, but Natasha feels like a friend I’ve had my whole life.  Maybe it’s because, like me, she is one of three sisters.  Or perhaps it’s because we were raised in a similar fashion or because we have similar personalities.  Whatever the combination of reasons, I feel very lucky to have a friend like Natasha, in my inner circle.  And Matt too.  He is a gem.  He and I haven’t had quite the same amount of time together as Natasha and I, but he feels like an old friend too.

And now I have a third Harris to fall in love with-Reagan Elizabeth.  Don’t you just love that name??  Reagan was born on April 23rd weighing in at 8 lbs 4 oz.  She is healthy and perfect in every way.  In addition to the normal “babies first year” sessions, Natasha and Matt added two “grandma sessions” with newborn Reagan as Mother’s Day gifts for each of their mom’s.  Lucky me!  I get to spend even more time with them!

Stay tuned for lots more photos to come of this darling baby girl that, as far as I can tell, is going to look very much like daddy.  These first images are with Matt’s mother, Bev.  Bev made all the pillows in the windowsill nook in the nursery so it was special to get photos of her with Reagan there.  And, with the assistance of Sally on the hairdryer and Natasha on the styling, we made a great team and kept the sleepy princess comfortable and happy the entire time.  Congratulations again Natasha and Matt!  She is amazing.  I can’t wait for the next session with Grandma Sally, mommy and daddy in a few weeks.

Olivia: One Clever Baby

Olivia was such a doll to photograph; I mean how couldn’t she be? Just look at that adorable face!  I’m so excited to welcome Michelle & Michael Gillette’s precious baby girl Olivia to this world. This eight-pound ball of joy is one little lady that seems to be very wise, beyond her baby years. Olivia was so great to work with, she was very calm and allowed me to get nice and close so I could photograph her big bright eyes. Baby photography is always different depending on the baby and the style of the photo-shoot. However, I always have fun. Baby photography can be challenging of course, especially depending on the little one’s age, but it’s always a fun goal trying to figure out what’s going to calm them down or make them smile! I’d say I have a couple of great tricks up my sleeve by now :)

Sisterly Love: Jesse

Having a sister is like having a best friend…one that you can’t get rid of ;)   My little sister Jesse is the first one of us sisters to be a mommy! We are all so excited for her and her husband Rob. Oh and I guess we also simply cannot wait to meet our new little addition to the family, baby Alice!!! I love, love, love the name, and I just knew it was going to be a beautiful baby girl. Recently, I learned at Jesse’s baby shower that HER first word was, “Frances,” so if history is bound to repeat itself, it looks like I’m going to be the best Aunty in the world. Can you tell I have baby fever??

My sister has always been naturally beautiful with amazing eyes and a gorgeous smile. She truly glowed as we photographed her in my house in Arvada, Colorado. Jesse’s curves and skin look so smooth, feminine and pretty in these maternity photographs. This photo session was very special to me, to the both of us, because not too far from now, baby Alice will be entering our world! I can not WAIT to have a baby niece to play with, and of course take a million photos of!  XOXO can’t wait to meet you little Alice!

Baby Photography in Denver: Beau Thumel

Small but Mighty! You can’t help but LOVE baby Beau’s rosie cheeks, adorable hat and festive sweater! I’ve said it before, and I will say it again- I simply love spending time with Beau and his family, Meagan and Bob. I’m proud to say I’ve been working with them for years now, and I think we have truly captured some memorable and intimate baby and family portraits of this amazing family.

After photographing Beau as a newborn, I knew it was going to be another fun photo-session in Denver with him and his parents who happen to choose the Baby’s First Year photography collection! This collection is a series of photo sessions that allow me to capture intimate photos of your new addition as they change and grow throughout the first year of their life.

These baby photos of Beau are both sweet and precious.  I have to say thank you to Meagan and Bob for their friendship and loyalty. Can’t wait to see you all again soon!
