Wedding Photography at the Denver Ritz Carlton: Danna and Ben

Danna Luo & Ben Kinning’s beautiful Colorado wedding took place downtown Denver at the Ritz Carlton on July 30th, 2011, it was an impeccable summer day for some ideal wedding photography!

Ivory & gold, fuchsia and various shades of pink were the beautifully selected colors that surrounded this elegant wedding. Gorgeous white, bright and soft pink roses created sublime bouquets of the graceful wedding party.  The glamorous bride was well equipped with a long gorgeous veil, a beautiful Tiffany bracelet (which was also her something blue!) Danna had gorgeous yet simple pearls, a delicate and tasteful tiara, and last but certainly not least-who could forget those amazing gold shoes? Talk about sparkle, those shoes were to die for! Danna rocked her gold heels and looked outstanding in her long flowing dress and beautiful matching accessories.

If you know me, you know how much I love kids (especially when their all dressed up as mini adults!) So of course I was thrilled with the ever so handsome ring bearer Aidan, who looked dashing in his suite, tie and boutonniere. Aidan did have some cute competition with the outstanding and beautiful flower girls who looked just amazing in their pink dresses with matching flower headbands. I loved their puffball pink flower bouquets that hung from white ribbon. With the girls final touch of gold sparkly slippers, matching perfectly with the bride’s heels, their outfits were complete from head to toe!

After a simple Lutheran ceremony, filled with a sleepy ring bearer and a beautiful flutist, it was time for some signature cocktails and delicious appetizers. The bride had mentioned to me that her main focus of her special day was food, family & fun – well that’s exactly what everyone did! All the guests were having a blast enjoying the variety of food, catching up with family, enjoying their peach colored cocktails and chasing around some of the kids of course. After cocktail hour, guests made way into the beautiful reception room, which was filled with lovely golden candles, pink roses, glamorous crystals and phenomenal lights. Delightful chocolate and red velvet treats were inside adorable little boxes for every guests place setting. The newlyweds cake matched the gold and elegant theme of the day, as well as the cake knives beautifully crafted with colorful shining stones. Heart felt and hilarious toasts were made, big hugs were shared and happy tears were shed by all. With all the smiling faces, positive energy, beautiful lights and soft colors, this Denver wedding was picture perfect in it’s simplicity and tasteful elegance.

What a classy and polished Colorado wedding, filled with amazing guests and loved ones from all walks of life, and from all over the world! Thank you Danna and Ben for making me a part of this memorable and personal day!

Ritz-Carlton Denver Wedding: Christine & Mike

Christine and Michael Gregorek had one of the most amazing weddings at The Ritz-Carlton in downtown Denver that I have ever had the pleasure of being part of! With the help of the fabulous Heather Allen of Table 6 Productions, Newberry Brothers, LMD Productions, and of course the fabulous staff at the Ritz, led by Elizabeth Brady, they completely transformed the ballroom into a glowing pink wedding wonderland! Their ceremony was held at the Holy Trinity Methodist Church and afterwards the two of them and I took a old fashioned Rolls Royce downtown for some urban landscape wedding photography. That was without a doubt one of my favorite parts of the day.

Mike stopped off at a hotdog stand and then fed his gorgeous bride hotdogs hanging out on a piano bench on the 16th St. mall. I LOVE that they did that!! What a great memory that will always be for them (and me!). I felt like I was really able to connect with both Christine and Mike over the course of the last year working together and they treated me like a welcome guest all day and night. I also have to mention their band, Bop Skizzum, who were seriously incredible! It was the first time I had ever heard them, and I was super impressed! I would definitely recommend them. A huge thank you to Christine and Mike, and to the lovely Ms. Allen for referring me. Christine and Mike, I look forward to keeping in touch with you both and possibly catching a Rockies game together sometime. You deserve the best that life has to offer now, and always. Feel free to check out more of their gorgeous Denver wedding :-)

Denver Engagement Photos: Christine and Mike

I am so excited about Christine and Mike’s wedding which will be taking place at the Denver Ritz-Carlton on June 4th of this year.  Heather Allen from Table 6 Productions is producing and coordinating this fabulous affair and it is sure to be extraordinary!  I’ve had so much fun getting to know both Christine and Mike over the course of the last year and thinking about it reminds me how important the connection between my clients and myself truly is.  When there is good chemistry and an easy connection, the expressions and body language that make beautiful images comes out so wonderfully naturally. When I met them both about nine months ago we were total strangers.  And now, as we are coming up on their wedding in just a few weeks, I feel like I will be photographing the wedding of friends.  :-)   I am truly grateful to do the work that I do photographing weddings.  I realize that I’m not exactly saving lives, but creating art and beauty for myself and others to share with the world and to keep close to their hearts and in their families forever is a wonderful thing…and, a far cry from any ordinary “job” I might have found myself in before I found the courage to follow my heart and become a photographer.

In addition to their engagement photos in downtown Denver, I also had a blast doing both a Love the Dress (bridal portraits) session and boudoir photo-shoot with Christine at Crooked Willow Farms.

Denver Wedding Photography at the Ritz: Carrie & Kirk

My first wedding of the year post has come so early this year- I love that!  :-) February 19th, 2011 was a perfect day for a downtown wedding and the weather cooperatively held out long enough for us to get some great outdoor shots at the Byron White Courthouse too.  Carrie was an absolutely stunning bride and everything about her and Kirk’s special day at the Denver Ritz-Carlton came together seamlessly. The Perfect Petal rocked it out with their amazing florals for this winter wonderland wedding & Elizabeth Brady at the Ritz made sure everything went smoothly.  It was such a fun wedding for me, and I loved having Paige Eden as my second shooter. We always have so much fun shooting together!  Carrie and Kirk, your wedding was absolutely beautiful and I enjoyed working with you both very much!!  It was an honor to be a part of it all I look forward to seeing you both again for more photos soon!  Thank you also to A Music Plus for their great DJ (as always!).  So, that’s one wedding down… 20 to go! It’s going to be a beautiful wedding season people!  Stay tuned and I will try to keep up.  :-)
