I am so excited to share with you this romantic Colorado Wedding! These high school sweethearts decided to have their ceremony at the Central Presbyterian Church on Sherman Street in Denver, and the reception at the Denver Grand Hyatt.
When I first met Kaitlyn it didn’t take long to see that she was totally awesome. Not only is her bubbly personality great- but we also both decided that we could be possible long lost sisters!
Kaitlyn works as a hairstylist in Fort Collins, she has been doing hair for over 5 years. In her free time she loves being with her bulldogs, Laela and Winston. She loves running, working out, finding a great book to read and just being a girl! Lonnie works for his dad’s company doing directional drilling, in his free time he loves working on cars, racing his race car, hanging out with his dad, playing card games with his family and of course playing with his loveable dogs. You will usually find this couple in the outdoors since they love Colorado weather and everything the mountains have to offer.
After the beautiful ceremony, held in the old church with Kaitlyn’s Uncle Marty as the Catholic priest, it was time to head to the Grand Hyatt for cocktail hour. A little rain came down on the way, but that didn’t stop us from capturing some amazing wedding photographs. I loved the groomsmen long red stockings! We had a lot of fun photographing as we walked the damp streets of Denver.
Kaitlyn told me that her plan was to have the reception area be incredibly romantic looking, so when people walk in that is all they can think of. Well, Kaitlyn, you clearly did a good job because literally the first words that came to my mind after walking into the reception room, held in the Grand Hyatt’s Pinnacle ballroom, was WOW! Not only did the room have a spectacular view of the mountains and the city, but gorgeous deep red roses, floating candles and sparkling crystals filled the room- creating a most romantic and elegant space! The deep reds and the lighting truly topped off this picture perfect reception room. Once I was done gawking, it was time for the bride to see the room she dreamed up. Kaitlyn, with her eyes closed, carefully walked to the center of the room. She then removed her hands to take her first peak, and her mouth immediately dropped. It wasn’t hard to tell that she was blown away by the decor, and this room was truly everything she wanted it to be.
After cocktail hour and a fun wedding party dance, the after party had begun! Later in the evening, the touching ”Grandma Dance” took place, which really tugged at my heart. The dance also involved a lighting of memorial candles for the couples Grandfathers who passed away. Overall, the night was filled with laughter, love, joy and tears – both happy and sad. I simply have to say Thank you to Kaitlyn and Lonnie for involving me in this amazing, memorable and romantic evening. I wish you all the best!
Some amazing vendors for this special day include the Perfect Petal, Table 6 Productions and DJ Rip’Em, who all did a fantastic job!
