Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch Wedding: Lindsey & Charlie

Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch Wedding:  I am ecstatic to share this absolutely fantastic wedding today!  Lindsey and Charlie really and truly stole our hearts. It will be easy to see why.  These two love-birds are both avid outdoors-people. They love hiking, biking, kayaking, and anything that involves action and adventure!  They have a love-affair with sushi, traveling, and let us not forget, whiskey!  HA!  And beyond that, they are absolutely adorable.  Both on their own, but especially together!  When Lindsey told me that photos of the two of them in the beautiful Colorado mountains were a top priority for them, I suggested that we do a first look and that we schedule in about an hour for photos of just the two of them.  They were on board and we had time to get the most amazing romantics (bride and groom photos) to date.  We photographed their first look at Anderson’s Cabin, just up the road from the Ritz-Carlton in Beaver Creek, which was a perfect setting, surrounded by Aspens, also the theme of their wedding.  The sun was shining, the wild-flowers were blooming, and the couple was beaming from inside to out.  The energy in their images is 100% true-to-life genuine as we could literally feel the love between them oozing into our lenses from every angle.  Julie, my rock solid second shooter, and I were in photography heaven with these two.  Words cannot begin to express the way that I feel about this couple or this wedding… but the pictures might do the trick.

Besides the always amazing staff at the Ritz-Carlton, all of the vendors involved in this wedding made it a smashing success.  The planning and execution was thanks to Meg Stepanek of Gemini Event Planning.  I haven’t worked with Meg in years and it was wonderful to see her again.  Great job Meg!  The gorgeous floral was done by Vintage Magnolia. And, Starkey Productions provided the rocking band. Besides having an A-team of vendors, which makes a world of difference,  it’s important that I also to mention how wonderful the wedding party was, how lovely both families were, and how friendly and sweet all of the guests were.  Everyone at this wedding was smiling from ear to ear all day long, making my job as the photographer, a piece of cake.  THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to everyone that was there to make this wedding such a smashing success.  To Lindsey and Charlie, you may not know this yet, but you will probably never get rid of me now.  ;-) And I wish you a lifetime of sweetness, action, adventure, and….sushi date nights.  XOXO ~Frances.

Littleton Engagement Photography: Brooke & Kyle

Littleton Engagement Photography:  Brooke and Kyle are two of the sweetest people I have ever met, and it was perfectly fitting that we start their engagement photo session at a little candy shoppe in downtown Littleton!  Besides that, Brooke makes cupcakes as a side business/hobby and has the frosting dipped slip-on flats to prove it.  :-)  Actually, both Brooke and Kyle work in the oil and gas industry and what’s more, they grew up only a few blocks from each other!  They officially met in high school because Brooke’s boyfriend at the time and Kyle’s girlfriend at the time had yearbook class together. Brooke and Kyle would talk to each other while waiting for them at the end of the school day.  (How cute is that?!)

Kyle proposed to Brooke in Winter Park after their second annual trip to the alpine slide and walking around town eating ice-cream.  Apparently Kyle had the genius idea to capture the proposal with a self-timer camera at the exact spot that they had taken photos of themselves the year before.  In Brooke’s words: ” We set up the camera and while we were taking the picture Kyle “attempted” to capture the moment on film. It was the perfect setting because it was quiet and no one was around, so it was just us. Unfortunately I was more concerned with telling him to stop talking while we were posing for the picture. It took  3 attempts of me resetting the timer and him trying to ask me to marry him for me to realize what was happening! We didn’t end up getting the actual proposal on film, but we do have 3 pictures showing him starting to ask and getting down on one knee and me looking very confused! It was very sweet and also makes for a funny story.”

Their wedding will consist of a ceremony at St. Francis Cabrini, and a whimsical yet classy Kate-Spade inspired garden party reception at the Columbine Country Club.  Kyle is an avid golfer and they thought having a reception there with a big table of LOTS of desserts would be the perfect setting.  They both love sweets and their favorite restaurant is the D bar in Denver.  How fitting!

Brooke and Kyle both love living in Colorado, and while Brooke wants to visit Australia and New Zealand and Kyle drams of going on an African safari, both say that they plan on staying in Colorado where the weather is the BEST.  (I couldn’t agree more!) And, I can’t wait for this sure to be darling wedding day next summer!

Red Sky Ranch Wedding Photography: Lindley & Jason

Red Sky Ranch Wedding Photography:  On July 12th 2014, Lindley and Jason said their “I do’s” on top of the world.  I’ve been photographing Colorado Weddings for over 10 years now and there aren’t many venues that I haven’t been to or photographed at.  However, I got to have a “first” at Red Sky Ranch Golf Club for this wedding, and I was blown away.  To say that the views from the ceremony site that is situated directly on the golf course are stunning would be an understatement.  They are unbelievable!  In fact, I have added this venue to my short list of places that I would get married myself!

Lindley and Jason are both from Dallas, Texas, and were introduced by Jason’s mother and Lindley’s aunt who work together.  Their initial blind date lunch turned into a 5 hour conversation and they have been together ever since.  Lindley had her brother and two male cousin as her attendants and Jason had his three sisters has his.  I love to see couples mix things up and do their own thing.  The family surprised the couple with a flash mob at the start of the reception, and to say that the speeches were fabulous would not be doing them justice.  They were hysterical!  Especially the bride’s brother’s toast!  O.M.G.  Everyone in the room was in stitches, including Telly and I!

Carolyn Moorman and her lovely assistant, Kay, from Artisan Events executed the day flawlessly as always (THANK YOU SO MUCH for recommending me for this gorgeous wedding!)  Vintage Magnolia did the lovely and colorful floral decor.  Sugar Breck made the delicious and beautiful cake, and the Moments Notice band rocked the house all night.  All in all it was a fantastic day and I was honored to be a part of it all.  Thank you to all that helped make this wedding so fantastic, and congratulations to the newly-weds. May your lives be filled with laughter and adventure now and forever!

Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding: Natalie & Mike Moore

Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding: Talk about a STUNNER from top to bottom!  First let me gush a little about this couple!  Right off the bat, they are both absolutely gorgeous people inside and out.  Natalie, born in Amherstburg, Ontario Canada, and Mike, born in Chathan, New Jersey, had their chance meeting in Denver at Jackson’s, across from Coors field after a baseball game was rained out. (What luck!) Natalie, a professional ballet dancer, and Mike, a sales analyst have found their home in Denver together with their puppy, Cora, where they love the natural beauty of our amazing state, the massive number of things to do outdoors and the great weather for doing them…not to mention being able to be somewhere that feels like vacation in less than an hours drive.  They are both adventurous and high spirited and get their thrills doing things like sky diving and surfing.  These two love-birds are so full of love and expression that it was literally like taking candy from a baby photographing them on a day that they were both practically bursting with joy.  Out of thousands of images captured, it was one of the hardest weddings in the history of my career to edit because practically every image we took was a total keeper.  (Good luck to you both choosing favorites for your album given that I spent a week narrowing things down just for this post!-ha!)

Now a little gushing about the amazing team that pulled off one of the most fantastic weddings I have ever had the honor of being a part of.  The ladies from Cloud 9 Weddings and Papers (Cortney and Ann) pulled off an A+ game in the planning department (as usual)!  The Perfect Petal went above and beyond on the floral & decor (AMAZING!!!!). Erin Ferris created the most gorgeous hair I have ever seen on a bride and her girls (like really, my favorite wedding hair of all time!)  Oh yeah and can we just talk about that DRESS?!?

I had Julia (my production manager of 5 years), the most killer second shooter ever!  We are so in sync it’s freakish!  Between the two of us, we didn’t miss a beat.  Needless to say, Spruce Mountain Ranch is an incredible venue with photo ops in every direction.  It was a gorgeous day, the light was perfect, the wedding party was spunky and fun, and all of the friends and family were there with bells on to celebrate the union of two of the most well suited and lovely red-headed bombshells I have ever met. Can I just say that I can hardly wait for these two to have babies???!!!  O.M.G.

I am literally in LOVE with this wedding, with this couple, and so over the top thankful that I was the one that was chosen to document this love story.  THANK YOU to everyone involved, and mostly to Natalie and Mike for being such amazing people to work with on such a hugely important and memorable day.  I knew after the engagement session we did together at Standley Lake that the wedding was going to be fabulous, but I couldn’t have ordered a more perfect wedding day if I had tried.  AND, last but not least, thanks for letting me get down on the dance floor with you at the end of the night.  I couldn’t help myself!  Now for the fun part…  let’s LOOK and relive it a thousand times…
