Lauren & Felipe’s Artwork Network Wedding

This was such a fun wedding day!! I am a little biased to anything involving dancers and since Lauren and Felipe met each other in a Mexican dance troupe, the dancing was a big part of the day.  And as dancers tend to be, both Lauren and Felipe are colorful and beautiful people and their wedding celebration was nothing short of the same.  Everything from the dancers and mariachi singers during cocktail hour to the colorful linens and flowers to the brides blue hair and shoes was bright and fun!  Ann Marlin from Cloud 9 Weddings and Papers did such an awesome job coordinating everything flawlessly.  I always love working with Ann!  Epicurean Catering served up a delicious dinner.  Tracy Carolyn was my lovely second shooter, and the Artwork Network was the reception venue- both outstanding!
Check out my favorite images below. I just loved their style, I loved our wedding day itinerary (we had lots of time to shoot the bride and groom downtown!) and I loved witnessing and documenting such an amazing event, at a wonderful venue for two wonderful people I am happy to now call my friends.  Congrats Lauren and Felipe!  I can’t wait for the babies to come :)

Extreme Skiier Engagement Photography in Cordillera

I was so excited when I met with Jess and Jon initially as we all have one of my very favorite things in common- skiing!  Jessica Cumming is actually the #1 ranked female extreme skier in the country- How cool is that?!  She and Jon met each other…how else?  Skiing!  I suggested we do a winter engagement session on the mountain. :-)   In the end though, we decided to take advantage of the gorgeous fall colors.  We met in Cordillera early one morning and took a little tour of a beautiful aspen grove and some restored cabins.  I love the quality of the soft morning mountain light on them.  A big thanks to JoAnn Moore of Mountains and Meadows for bringing me this fabulous couple!  I am so excited for their wedding at Beano’s Cabin in Beaver Creek next summer.  Jess and Jon, I had such a great time with you and I’m so thrilled to be working with you!

Helen & Dan’s Crooked Willow Farm Wedding Celebration

Have you ever had something wonderful land in your lap that was entirely unexpected?  Helen and Dan’s wedding was that for me this year!  September is always one of those “crazy” wedding season months here in Colorado, and not without good reason.  We have “picture perfect” weather… very low chance of rain, warm days, not too cool nights.  But, it just so happened that Sept. 11 fell on a Saturday this year and as you might imagine, most of the wedding vendors and venues had availability.  Helen and Dan got married in June of this year, they eloped while in London, but wanted to have a big party to celebrate with all their friends and family.  Their vision was a “farm” feeling where their guests could relax and experience a weekend of CO beauty.  Well, Crooked Willow Farms was available on Sept. 11th and it was an absolutely perfect fit. They booked it and the whirlwind planning began. When I met with Helen for the first time in my studio, we hit it off immediately.  And after the engagement session and then a boudoir session, I knew we were a match made.  I feel like I must have known Helen in a previous life or something.  Anyway, as it ended up, I spent three days at Crooked Willow with the charming Brendan, the wonderful staff from Epicurean and Design Works, and the perfectly organized Kathy Vaughn, from A Beautiful Memory, who coordinated everything so wonderfully, shooting my heart out.  There was fishing and camels, campfires and dancing, drinking and eating, laughing and singing, and everything in between that you can think of.  It was a BLAST and I am so honored to have been there to experience it all too.  I just love Helen and Dan and I am looking forward to a lifetime friendship with them both. Check out their amazing Colorado wedding weekend set to music  here (Slideshow).  And although it was nearly impossible to choose for this post, here are a “few” of my favorite images from the weekend.  You might notice my obsession with the camels.  :-)   They were so sweet!  Thanks to everyone involved…We made an awesome team!

Lauren & Andy’s Beaver Creek Wedding

It was without question a perfect fall day for Lauren and Andy Carlson’s beautiful wedding at the Beaver Creek Chapel and for their reception at the Park Hyatt hotel.  And not only did the bride and groom see each other for pre-ceremony photos, but one of Andy’s charming groomsmen charmed (literally) the lift operator and talked him into letting the entire wedding party ride up the lift for free giving me the opportunity to shoot the bride and groom on the lift (I just LOVE!! that) and at the top of the mountain. I was in photo heaven with my fabulous editing manager of two years, Julie, backing me up like no second shooter I’ve ever had.  I am SO lucky to have her and I am excited to announce that she is going to be a permanent addition to the Frances Photography shooting team for 2011!
Carolyn Moorman and her fabulous assistant, Kay, from Artisan Events, worked their coordination magic at the Park Hyatt and turned a normal ballroom into a totally magical space perfect for an intimate party-complete with a lounge and candy bar (I’m a big fan of the candy bar trend)!!Lauren and Andy, we absolutely loved working with you!!  Thank you for being so carefree and flexible with the photo time too.  I hope you will agree it paid off generously. Please click HERE to see their online slideshow!
