Colorado Engagement Session: Frances Photography: Colorado is known for its beauty, unpredictable weather, and gorgeous mountains. Although photographing in Colorado can be challenging compared to other states because of the incredibly harsh light, the Columbine State offers some of the most gorgeous backgrounds for weddings and engagement sessions. From downtown Denver, to the lakes, mountains and flatirons, Colorado is simply stunning. (We may be a little biased!) Here are a few of our recent Colorado Engagement Sessions that Frances and her Associate team was able to capture the beauty of the couple and the State.
Morgan and Will:
Morgan and Will live in Texas, but will be exchanging their vows at the Cherokee Ranch & Castle in Sedalia, CO. With their love for Colorado, Morgan and Will wanted to have their engagement session express what Colorado is all about… mountains and breathtaking scenery! Frances took the couple to Mount Evans for their Colorado Engagement Session and captured some of the most beautiful views (and couples) that we had ever seen. Morgan and Will were dressed for Colorado weather – we just loved their matching duck boots! We can’t wait for their wedding, this August!
Morghan and Chris:
For Morghan and Chris’s Colorado Engagement Session, Frances took the newly engaged couple through Downtown Denver where they stopped along the 16th street mall and our favorite, Larimer Square. Colorado flags were hung high along Larimer Square which was the perfect addition to this Colorado couple’s engagement session. It’s truly incredibly how many beautiful and unique buildings there are filling downtown. We had so much fun photographing Morghan and Chris laughing and kissing! We are truly looking forward to their June wedding this summer!
Elizabeth and Tim:
Associate Julie Timmer photographed Elizabeth and Tim’s Colorado Engagement Session at Chautauqua Park in Boulder. Chautauqua is known for its gorgeous views of the Flatirons and is a well-known landmark in Colorado. Besides its gorgeous views, Chautauqua is a great location for Colorado Engagement Sessions because it is only a 30 minute drive from Downtown Denver. Because of the stunning trails and flatiron views, you have the feeling that you’re far up in the Colorado Mountains, but really you’re just right outside the city. It was important for Elizabeth and Tim to incorporate their dog in their engagement photos. He was quite the addition to their Colorado Engagement Session and helped the couple’s playfulness come out. Elizabeth and Tim will say, “I do” at Lionscrest Manor located in Lyon’s CO, where Frances Photography is on their preferred vendor list. See more details on our blog.
Cynthia and Mike:
Cynthia and Mike’s Colorado Engagement Session was at Sapphire Point in Breckenridge, CO and was captured by the talented Frances Photography Associate, Jennifer Winder. As Cynthia and Mike love traveling, hiking, and outdoor adventures, they wanted their Colorado Engagement Session to be at one of their favorite places in Colorado. Jennifer has photographed some incredible engagement sessions at this location and definitely has a talent for photographing in the snow. Cynthia and Mike’s wedding will be at Lionscrest Manor in September 2017, so their snowy Colorado Engagement Session might just repeat itself on their wedding day – anything is possible in Colorado!
Shooting Colorado Engagement Sessions in Denver, Boulder, or up in the mountains never gets old. The Frances Photography team is constantly inspired by the beauty in Colorado and consistently challenged to be creative based on the location, time of day, or weather conditions of all our Colorado Engagement Sessions. We must say, we are pretty dang lucky to be photographers in such a gorgeous state and are looking forward to more Colorado Engagement Sessions of our 2017 couples in the near future!
