Even though I don’t market or advertise senior photography, I usually get a handful of requests each year from people that have worked with me on different events, or who know me personally and know about my portrait photography. I have to admit, I really love working with high school seniors! I find them super easy to work with and always very cooperative and fun. The issue in the past that I have had is that “senior photography season” is approximately the same time as “wedding season” and I am usually up to my eyeballs in wedding commitments and editing. But that’s not to say I won’t or can’t make time to do a few when the opportunity arises. I like to mix up my weeks in general, so between weddings, engagements, babies, maternity, seniors, families & boudoir, I tend to accomplish that goal pretty much year round.
Tessa is a spunky little senior that came to me by way of her brother’s Bar Mitzvah almost 8 years ago now. After Eli’s Bar Mitzvah, I also photographed Tessa’s Bat Mitzvah, followed by Eli’s senior photos, and finally it was her turn for senior photos. I just love Tessa’s family and I imagine I will also get the call when either Eli or Tessa get married, though I’m SURE her parents are hoping that call doesn’t come for at least another decade-ha!
Beau came to me by way of his mother, Kristi, who has become a friend that I do pure barre with. Kristi and I see each other a few times a week and always have a chance to chat a little before class starts. When she told me she needed photos of Beau I was quick to offer my services. He was very sweet and a little shy at first, but warmed up to me pretty quickly and we got some great images for him too!
Even though I don’t actively “look” for senior portrait clients, I love to do them when they come along. If you or anyone you know has a senior that wants some stylish and contemporary senior photos taken, I’m your girl! 🙂
