Rembrandt Yard Boulder Wedding Photographers

The post-nuptial photo shoot is probably one of the most relaxing parts of the wedding, at least for the couple. It is that time of their big day when the ceremony has just concluded and they are officially a married couple.

This image of the bride and groom clearly reflects the undeniable joy, satisfaction, and true happiness of the couple after the stressful part of the day, which is the ceremony. They look so in love in this post-nuptial photo that was taken in a private Colorado wedding venue. Here, nature is photographers’ best friend. Anywhere you look, you can see bits and pieces of the lively environment, such as lush green trees and majestic mountains.

That genuine laughter of the bride as she looks at her groom spells the success of this wedding. We can only surmise from this photo that she is enjoying the way her groom carries her for the photo shoot. The groom, for his part, is equally happy and it he does not show any trace of being tired at all. He also seems to enjoy carrying the bride whom he can officially call his wife. Their smile and laughter make them look so young and fresh at this very moment.

But who is the couple and what happened that day? This was hands down one of the most fun weddings I've ever photographed. Not only were the hand prints of Karensa and Elliott obvious in every unique detail of this day, but each seemed to tell a story about this amazing, genuine couple.

Desiring a romantic, intimate setting and a celebration of the life they've created in Boulder, these Colorado lovebirds held their ceremony in the backyard of the home they'd been living in for two years. They wanted a place where they could be themselves and have a ceremony that focused on them.

With a garden romantic theme and rose and navy blue as their colors, they wanted the atmosphere to feel like a lovely Boulder evening coupled with chic elegance.

From inside their home, Karensa loved seeing everyone setting up for the big day, and especially spying from the third floor window as guests arrived. And as for the first look, well, words can't sum up how special it was. The series of photos simply speak for themselves.

Before arriving at the Rembrandt Yard Gallery for the reception, the bridal party was taken to North Boulder Park for picture time. Just when you thought riding over in pedicabs (yes, pedicabs) wasn't fun enough, an impromptu dance party broke out in the middle of the park. (Note: I may or may not have joined in at one point, as these people were. a. blast.)

Just as expected, the reception was nothing short of awesome. Not only was there a great band, tons of dancing and gorgeous details, but the milkshake shooters topped with cookies -- in place of a wedding cake -- were quite the unique treat. Then, as a tribute to Elliott's nightly, pre-bedtime bowl of cereal, the evening snack was a cereal bar accompanied by a milk fountain. Perfection.

I can't thank Karensa and Elliott enough for allowing me to be part of their special day and can honestly say I've made two new wonderful friends. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and MORE!

Fun facts about the bride and groom:

  • Karensa was born in Seoul, South Korea and raised in Evergreen, Colorado.
  • Elliott was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado.
  • Both had nearly identical childhoods (skiing, hiking, taking piano lessons, singing in choir, playing soccer and living near the mountains) but didn't meet until college.
  • For the Rehearsal Dinner, Karensa wore a traditional Korean Hanbok, a nod to her culture and heritage.
  • Elliott’s wedding band is a traditional family crest worn by all men in his family.
  • Elliott calls Karensa "La Renz," "Lady Renz," "Renzathorn" and, well, really any variation of Renz.

And finally, a very special thank you to all of the amazing vendor partners that made this wedding such a smashing success. It was a joy and pleasure working with each and every one of you! Thank you!
