Questions & Answers

what are your prices?

My wedding packages start at $20,000. An entire career's worth of experience will go into your wedding. I truly believe documenting your day, forever, through incredible photography is worth it.

How many weddings do you book a year?

I will be collaborating with less than 5 couples this upcoming wedding season. Yep. That's it. My work is extremely important to me and after shooting hundreds of weddings over the last 20 years, I've learned something about myself: the fewer weddings I shoot in a year, the better the product. I will be fresh, present, and truly enthusiastic to be with you on your wedding day.

Why I should choose Frances Photography for my wedding photography?

Photographs are important to you. Like really important. Like waaaay more important than a few extra appetizers at the reception.

You want ALL of your wedding photos to be IN FOCUS (you’d be surprised).

You like it when people post words and phrases like OMG and EPIC and DROP MIC when commenting on photography.

My images speak to you in a certain way. You appreciate how they appear more lively, evocative, and imaginative than others you’ve see.

You’re salt of the earth peeps and love to have fun! The proof is in the pudding. Most of my besties were once clients of mine.

You want to collaborate with the artist directly – over a sav blanc or Colorado craft brew – and really hope she brings her trusty sidekick Bodhi!

What makes you different than other Denver wedding photographers?

There are A LOT of people moving to Colorado these days. Some of them are photographers. One thing that sets me a part is the amount of experience I have here. I grew up in Colorado and I’ve shot hundreds of weddings both in Denver and in the Rocky Mountains. I have built some great relationships over time with the Colorado wedding venues and vendors. And if you plan on shooting at any wedding venues in Colorado, especially in mountain wedding venues, you MUST have substantial experience with the weather. Colorado weather can change on a dime! As far as me vs. the thousands who shoot wedding photography around the country? It’s probably my sense of adventure. It’s a sense of adventure & wonder that can only be born and bred in a place like Colorado.

What is your photographic style?

My goal is to deliver timeless images that will be as relevant in 50 years as they are today. I would use words like classic, emotional, spontaneous, and surprising to describe my images. I loved the way fitness model Brooke Budke once described my style saying, "I really like your style of intensity, authentic moments but still focused on pops of color and glam." See my about page for a further description on the style of my wedding photography.

Is the personality of the wedding photographer important?

YES! Most certainly YES! Not only are you going to spend 8-9 hours with this person on your wedding day, but truly, a piece of the photographer can be found in every single one of your photos. Think about that!

Do you have any favorite wedding venues in Colorado?

There are some truly inspiring places to get married in this wonderful state. If wedding photography is really important to you (which it should be!), then I’d be happy to walk through the pros and cons of your chosen wedding venue from a photographer’s perspective. Things like time of year and time of day can have a tremendous impact on the look and feel of your wedding photographs – especially in Colorado!

Do you travel for destination weddings?

Don’t get me wrong, us Denver photographers love our Mile High city and our Rocky Mountains. However, it’s always an extreme honor to be selected to travel with a couple to some magical wedding destination. My passport is always ready to rock and roll.

Do you do anything special for bridal photography?

Yep. Sure do. In addition to being a boss at getting the BFF images, I offer a bridal boudoir package.

How many wedding photos do we receive?

Along with the limited number of weddings I shoot every year, I’ve cut back on the number of photos my couples receive. I kicked ordinary to the curb some time ago. The “must have” shots will be there, but I’d rather present you with 750-1000 awesome epic, drop mic photographs than 1,500 you’ll never, ever, ever look at again.

Do you have other advice about choosing a wedding photographer?

Talk to them in person (or at least on Zoom). Seriously. You can spend hours looking at website photos and I certainly encourage you to do that. But I want to create relationships with my clients and that starts with a face to face chat.

Should I get a wedding album?

We live in a digital age where photographs reside on social media or are saved on our computers. They are rarely displayed in our homes. As technology changes and evolves, digital files will eventually become obsolete.

When you build a wedding album, you're building memories. It's a tangible thing that will bring you back to your wedding day time and time again both your lifetime and for family generations to come. Think of your wedding album as a priceless family heirloom, because, unquestionably, it will be.

Regardless of which album you choose, I will guide you step by step in designing a book that you are 100% satisfied with. From cover selection, to page design, to cover imprinting, to production, I will work with you to create a unique book that is yours and yours alone.
