When Leah and Ryan decided to tie the knot on July 21, they were doing more than just picking a wedding date…they were planning the ultimate send off. These two were moving to Israel for the Foreign Service a week later and wanted to bid a fond farewell to their friends and family.
Although Ryan is a German-born Oklahoma boy and Leah is a Boston girl with roots in New York City, they actually both met in D.C. in 2010. Thanks to a fateful extra ticket that Leah had to the Woolly Mammoth Theater Company and her friend knowing just the person who would love to go, well, the rest is history.
With a love for the mountains, adventure and all things outdoors, they chose the perfect setting for an intimate celebration: The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch. Leah’s bridesmaids donned bright blue dresses and carried gorgeous wildflowers while rose petals dotted the aisle and simple yet stunning details created the perfect backdrop. (Nothing beats a summer wedding in Beaver Creek.)
I loved how instead of a guestbook, they invited guests to place their green thumbprints as leaves onto a beautiful tree drawing.
The reception was elegant indeed with billowing, soft white lights hanging from the ballroom ceiling and breathtaking centerpieces to catch the eye. And the dancing? So great. Leah and Ryan love to have FUN.
I was honored to be able to capture such a momentous day and wish Leah and Ryan a lifetime of happiness and many adventures in Israel!
